about mE
I write fiction, articles, book reviews and obscurely funny essays. I am especially enthusiastic about
The Funny Times magazine, whose editors seem to 'get' my quirky sense of humor.
I was born in Williams Bay, Wisconsin, and grew up in San Jose, California and Ann Arbor, Michigan.
My parents did the best they could, but often I wondered what it would be like to be raised by Remus and Romulus--but hey, who doesn't. My three sisters and I scattered around the country and built houses out of sticks and stones, not unlike the three little pigs, but without the straw. When you live in Tennessee as I do now, it is especially important to keep one's sense of humor.

I've had plenty of jobs ranging from babysitter of squirmy children to teacher of squirmy children to parent of
squirmy children. I've been a waitress, book shelver, mural painter, snake handler, and youth
museum founder. I started and ran the Discovery Center in Murfreesboro, Ternnessee, serving as CEO for 25 years,. Many of my jobs involved showing up and doing what I was told, but as CEO I was
forever telling other people what to do and feeling conflicted about it.

Turns out I am better suited to writing about whatever thoughts creep into my head.
